Account Registration and Security

To use our services, you must:

User Content and Responsibilities

Payment Terms and Refunds

Data Protection and Legacy Continuity

We implement comprehensive measures to ensure your digital legacy is preserved and delivered as intended. This includes encrypted storage, multiple backup systems, and legal frameworks to ensure service continuation. In the unlikely event of business closure, we will work with trusted partners to maintain legacy commitments.

Specialized Digital Legacy Guarantees

Recognizing the critical nature of digital legacy services, we provide enhanced service continuity guarantees:

• Legacy Continuity Fund: We maintain a dedicated financial reserve to ensure long-term service delivery of scheduled messages and digital time capsules.
• Multi-Provider Redundancy: Critical legacy content is securely replicated across multiple trusted service providers to prevent data loss.
• Beneficiary Notification System: In the event of extended service interruption, designated beneficiaries will be automatically notified and provided alternative delivery mechanisms.
• Extended Delivery Commitments: Messages and digital assets are guaranteed delivery according to user-specified schedules, even if unforeseen circumstances arise.

These specialized guarantees demonstrate our commitment to the long-term preservation of your digital legacy.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AfterLight's liability is limited to the amount you have paid for services in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, though we maintain comprehensive measures to prevent service failures affecting your digital legacy. For digital legacy and time-sensitive communications, we provide additional protections through our Legacy Continuity Fund and multi-provider redundancy systems.

Intellectual Property Rights

The AfterLight platform, software, and related materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary technology without permission. You retain all rights to your personal content stored on our platform.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement with appropriate notice. Upon termination, you will retain access to retrieve your content for a reasonable period. Legacy delivery commitments will continue according to your specified instructions. In the event of service termination, we guarantee: - Retrieval of all stored digital content - Completion of all scheduled message deliveries - Transfer of legacy instructions to designated backup providers - Extended data preservation for up to 24 months post-termination to ensure message delivery These provisions ensure that your digital legacy remains protected, regardless of changes to our service structure.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by Singapore law. Disputes will be resolved through arbitration in Singapore, except for matters that may be resolved in small claims court.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance.
